Funky Fungi by Mohit Gandhi, Diana Fang, Srikripa Chandrasekaran and Lukasz Kozubowski Our image depicts various types of fungi that we have unexpectedly discovered on media plates stored in the cold-room. This photograph illustrates a wide diversity of fungal spores present in the air within our lab space in the Life Sciences Facility. This diversity has special significance in our particular lab, where we are seeking the causes of medical illnesses from fungal infections. The image was taken with a Canon DSLR camera and color-enhanced using Apple's Aperture software to highlight the different growth patterns and morphologies.
