This fluorescence image shows a live ceriodaphnid (small water flea) labeled with supramolecular complex C70- gallic acid, taken using a Zeiss LSM 510 confocal scanning microscope. The composite eye of the ceriodaphnid is the spherical structure at the front. The internal organs and the appendages of the ceriodaphnid can be seen because of the efficient uptake of the C70-gallic acid. Scale: 1.4 x 1.4 mm.
