Turning Light into Hydrogen

Philip Kalisman & Lilac Amirav

Turning Light into Hydrogen by Philip Kalisman & Lilac Amirav This is a rendition of nanoparticles in water that when exposed to light, can convert the hydrogen in water into hydrogen gas, a clean fuel source of much interest. These nanoparticles are made of a core (CdSe-black), rod (CdS-yellow) and tip (Pt-blue) which all play a critical role in this process. This image is based on published work on solar driven production of hydrogen fuel as an approach to renewable fuel.
